BECA gallery artist Gary Chapman has been included in a new publication titled, Alabama Masters: Artists and Their Works. The project was supported by an American Masterpieces Award from the National Endowment for the Arts. 42 artists connected to the state of Alabama were selected for this publication covering the past 140 years. Gary is one of only 20 living artists included in the book. Artists were selected by nomination from curators and directors of Alabama's 6 major museums based on the artists inclusion in the permanent collections of these same museums.
The two works of Gary Chapman chosen for inclusion are: Man With Black Eye, Listening, Oil and gold leaf on canvas, Mobile Museum of Art. (pictured above) and Mutter Und Tochter, Oil on linen, Montgomery Museum of Fine Art. (pictured at left).
Gary is currently traveling in France and Spain and we look forward to new works from his studio as Fall approaches. Works currently available by Gary Chapman may be viewed online at
